The Chemical Heritage Foundation in Philadelphia sponsors the Joseph Priestley Society Lecture Series.
The speaker on February 14 is Robert L. Stoll. He is the former commissioner for patents at the US Patent and Trademark Office, and is very familiar with the intent of this change in the law, and the inner workings of the USPTO. He recently ended his 30-year career in government service as the commissioner for patents, and currently is a partner of Drinker Biddle & Reath LLP with its Intellectual Property Practice Group in their DC office.
During his lecture, he will detail how the new supplemental examination procedures will function, and will talk about the changes to inequitable conduct in the United States. He has indicated he will also provide insight relating to some recent case-law decisions and tips about how to improve the odds to obtain superior patent coverage from the USPTO.
It is a great honor to serve as Chair for 2024. I look forward to leading this incredible and diverse group of volunteers . . . My goals for 2024 start with supporting our diverse topical groups and committees in organizing exciting seminars.
