May 22, 2016 – Street Fair – Call for Volunteers

Street Fair in Kenilworth NJ

The North Jersey Section of the American Chemical Society needs volunteers to distribute ACS materials and possibly do science activities at several upcoming community street fairs in our area. The first one is in Bound Brook NJ on September 20.

Qualifications: A presenter can be an active or retired chemist,  high school student, high school and or middle school chemistry/science  teacher or parent or grand parent

Note: Volunteer service hour certificates will be issued to students who participate as presenters.

Purpose: Help to spread the message “Chemistry (is) for Life” to the public

Training: Not needed for handing out materials and speaking to the public, but science demonstrators or activity people should use safe ACS approved activities.  Contact   Coordinator for approval.

Time requirements:  One or two hour per street fair.  You can bring children

Reward: A volunteer reward ceremony will be set up.

Where: Kenilworth, NJ

When:  Saturday, May 22, 2016

Times:    7:30 AM – Set up tent

9:00 AM to 4:00 PM – The Fair

4:00 PM – Take down tent
